This time is spent learning about the benefits of secular (non-religious) meditation and practical, skillful ways to begin using practices to support mental, physical, social and emotional wellness. Expect new concepts based in neuroscience to help us understand what’s going on in the brain and the nervous system when we are under stress, as well as meditation/mindfulness practices we’ll do together to regulate the nervous system, finding more comfort in the body, and more ease in the busy, busy mind! *If you have joined with Rachel Wixey, WorkWell, on December 6, 2024 or February 14th, 2025, you have attended this session; you are invited to join Intro to Meditation Part II: The Window of Tolerance

Workwell Part 2: The Window of Tolerance FULL
Tuesday May 6, 2025 10:00am - 10:50am EDT
Join this session to continue building a foundational understanding of why and how secular meditation supports mental, physical, social and emotional health and wellness. We’ll explore what the “Window of Tolerance” is and how using our understanding of this supports improvement of nervous system health. We will also engage in 2 unique meditation practices together, as we look to expand our repertoire of options to support us in establishing our own meditation practice. Plan to learn new skills for “upregulating” and “downregulating” the nervous system, and why this is so beneficial for long term health and wellbeing. *Pre-requisite: Introduction to Meditation: Part I: What is Meditation & Why Does it "Work"
